Gaming Floor Layout

Our main floor at Christchurch Casino features 500 slot machines, split into different zones so everyone can settle in somewhere comfortable. Slot types and bet levels change from area to area, which means whether you prefer lower or higher stakes, there’s plenty of choice - and no crowding if you just want space. Popular games include Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and Poker.

We run 34 table games out on the gaming floor. Blackjack plays by standard rules here. Blackjack minimum bets start from NZD 5, with some tables reaching NZD 5,000 maximum depending on the table selected. Roulette is available with American double-zero wheels, Roulette X, and Rapid Roulette. As for poker, Texas Hold’em dominates, with options including Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, and Caribbean Stud Poker. You’ll find cash games and tournaments all week.

Premium Lounge is our VIP gaming lounge on the upper floor, reserved for members and guests with higher limits. Entry is by invitation only. Inside you’ll find 3 Midi Baccarat tables, 2 American Roulette wheels, 3 Blackjack tables, plus a limited number of slot machines. The lounge features private facilities including dedicated dining room, bar, cashier, bathroom and host services.

Location and Hours

You’ll find us at 30 Victoria Street, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8013, with parking connected so you walk straight inside. Owned by Skyline Entertainment, Christchurch Casino is your destination for gaming and entertainment. Established in 1994, Christchurch Casino was the first of its kind in New Zealand. Players Club is our gaming club - earn and redeem rewards when you game and dine at Christchurch Casino.

Our doors are open every day. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, we’re open from 12pm to 1am. Friday and Saturday hours extend from 12pm to 3am. Admission is strictly for guests 20 years or older. You’ll need ID every time - NZ driver license, passport, or an approved photo ID card are all fine.

Players Club Membership

Every bet earns players loyalty points, whether on the slots or the tables. Electronic gaming and live table games each give points at their own rate, but both add up to help boost your membership tier. Earn and redeem rewards when you game and dine.

Sign up at the desk with your ID and contact info. We’ll hand you a members card, which works for both machines and tables tracking.

Dining and Bars

We’re more than slots and tables. There are five restaurants on-site. The main restaurant serves up modern New Zealand cooking: local meats, fresh seasonal veg, and regional wines. For faster bites, our bistro offers burgers, pizzas, and casual meals from a quick service counter. Around 80 seats overlook the casino floor so you can keep a close eye on the action, even during lunch.

For date nights or celebrations, book our premium restaurant (weekends fill up quick). You get a big wine list, chef’s menu, and a dress code comes into play after dark.

Drinks? Two bars. Monza Sports Bar lets you catch the sporting action on Christchurch’s biggest TV screen - rugby, cricket, football, you name it. Bingo runs every Tuesday at Monza. The main bar (by the gaming) offers cocktails, beers, and spirits in a more relaxed setting.

Table Game Details

Before you play, swap cash for chips at either the table or the cashier window. We’ve got chip values for every level: NZD 1, 5, 25, 100, and 500 - ask for larger plaques if you’re in Premium.

Roulette follows the usual routine: inside bets for straight-up numbers, splits, corners, lines - outside bets for big groups like red/black, odd/even, dozens, columns. Minimum bets are set for outside bets, but you can go lower on single numbers.

Our poker options include Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, and Caribbean Stud, alongside traditional cash games. Weekly tournament lineups are posted in advance, with different entry fees and prize plans.

New Zealand Poker Championships

We host the annual New Zealand Poker Championships every August, with a prize pool reaching up to $1 million. The series is a mix: main tournament, side events, satellite qualifiers. Players can buy in or try satellites running in the weeks before the big event. The whole tournament has its own space, usually with temporary tables set up just for championships.

You can register online through our site ahead of time or swing by for walk-up registration until an event begins.

Entertainment Schedule

Live music lights up the main entertainment space every Friday and Saturday - local acts and touring names bring the energy late into the night.

All through the year, we put on themed party nights, holiday events, extra tournaments and more. Our website and social feeds carry the full monthly event calendar. Sometimes you’ll need a ticket or Players Club status to join.

Monza Sports Bar hosts bingo every Tuesday, and doesn’t miss a beat for big games: rugby, cricket, even international football. Extended hours and food/drink specials happen during major matches.

Responsible Gaming Support

If you need a break, we offer self-exclusion - fill out a form with ID at reception. You can set yourself out for six months, a year, or more.

Through the Players Club, it’s possible to add daily, weekly, or monthly spend limits to your account. If you hit your limit, you’ll be blocked from further play until the next period.

We display 24-hour problem gambling helplines across the casino: 0800 654 655. Printed resources are always at the membership desk and cashier if you’d like more info.
